Daddy Love

Poem from December 2025

My father once found the woman with a smile as

wide and fresh as flowing rivers

And when he felt the rush of relief that came from love as

clear as water,

he married her

He was to pluck me from the silver blue pinprick gems of the skies

and change their lives forever

My dear daddy love–

I hope you always know I’ve cherished you.

I hope you know that my love blooms tulip field blooms

and blows sifting crystal sands from my heart to yours forever

When I fell from the sky,

I rushed into the arms of a dad who honors my strength

Who multiplies my bravery

Who marvels at my voice and swansong poetry

Treasure. Trésor.

The chest breathing “you can do it’s” with “no doubt in my mind”

Keeps me healthy and freshly joy swept across and down the skittling stream

My daddy is my daddy,

And though my heavy rosewood chest carries his heart too

The patterns of my beating rosalind heart feel

sweet and peaceful

    me

from    raising

him

    climb

forever

do

Upward

Daddy’s smile –

Daddy’s embrace –

Daddy’s aging hand on my face

Alley walk pal,

little girl love,

our pathway was towards a home,

towards my soul,

towards this dove

I love my dad–

I found out he fights monsters,

climbs mountains,

lifts heavy feelings off my teenage pillow

long long ago

And daddy saved my mom

And gave us all wings to fly high and by

And he supports us,

and he cherishes our growth

And he holds our baby girl

bodies still on his arm in his memory

and he lets us cry

on his chest at the

drop of a dime

My daddy loves me so, so, so

He’s my first love, and my fresh fallen snow
