Lilac Time

Poem from October 2023

And a pale purple haze settled over the hill

And a blanket of lilacs and lamb’s ear’s soft leaves

Settled down the slope

And she breathed…

And she listened…

And she thought of him.

And the ground told her not to lie in sorrow and the

Deer and doves cooed while

she slept in restfulness

For his heartbeat

and the hum of his voice were

quite close

For she dreamed and she heard

him in her soft pink ears and he

Called to her gently and he

Draped lavender linens on her marble sculpted body

til she hummed an ‘M’

And the cool winds reminded her they weren’t far apart

And the pears became sweet on the tree

And the greys turned to blues

And the waves rocked her so,

And the great force lifted her body

And soothed her fierce mind.

And so she was.

And so she spelled me.

And so she spelled we.
