Musings From Vojanovy Sady

Poem from April 2023

Here is where she lives.

In the glistening nose ring,

in the billowing silk scarf,

in green blazers and chic clutches and Prada shoes

In the awakening leaves,

She’s in her tiny pink tongue licking baby lips and chubby cheeks

a grandmother living childhood twice again,

a mother in bright red, a poppy, a carnation, a goddess incarnated

A wisp of grey on a smiling old woman’s contented sigh of

all

is

as

it should be this

sunny afternoon

you

see

This spring

This sun clock town

These trees of budding flowers, blooming leaves

She is blissful beyond her bemusing blue eyes

And her wanderlust doesn’t end.

Button noses and

smooth cream cheeks,

encircled with

tiny knit hats

that match

their

plush

pink

puffers

A man,

Leather and ripped jeans –

Covered,

Wishing to touch this   fluffed white       partly cloud      of      paradise

Just one encounter with the puff of misty white

could recreate hope on the

spinning wheel of time

Women tend here.

They touch the sand,

see kaleidoscopic visions

through

the hourglass,

making touchstones for

the women of the future

time

and

time

again.

Some have followed

the lily pads to the

darker

parts of the pond,

where the water is drained of life

where it is crystal clear amber.

All is as it should be.

Show me your name, mother

For this is our land, our time, our see

Show me your hand sister,

For this joy sings songs of high breeze

Curate my womb daughter

For city town or yonder

You

Belong

Lily

Pond

You

Belong

In my song

You

Belong
